Dave Reichert, Cathy McMorris Rodgers, Jaime Herrera Beutler, and Doc Hastings don't represent me with their votes to shut down the government over Obamacare
Dear Ryan,
Today, I'm proud to be a Democrat.
Democrats created the Social Security System in the 1930s and Medicare in the 1960s. We passed the first minimum wage and child labor laws and the historic Civil Rights Act of 1964.
And now because Democrats fought to pass and protect Obamacare, 48 million Americans will have access to affordable heath care.

Today marks the beginning of affordable health care in our country. But today is also a day when the government has been shut down by a House of Representatives hijacked by its right wing.
Four of those House Republicans - Dave Reichert, Jaime Herrera Beutler, Cathy McMorris Rodgers, and Doc Hastings - are from our state. They've caved to the far right and are driving our country off the fiscal cliff.
By shutting down our government, Republicans will cost taxpayers $150 million a day, place tens of thousands of government workers on furlough, and delay important government benefits to those in need.
The midterm elections are coming. That's our chance to show Reichert, Herrera Beutler, McMorris Rodgers, and Hastings that their votes aren't in line with Washington State values.
Thank you,
Dwight Pelz
